Time is money, and waiting is expensive. That’s why ports, including Oakland and Seattle-Tacoma, are using smartphone apps that provide real-time information about cargo pick-up and delivery times, known in the industry as turn times. The two apps, DrayQ™ and DrayLink™, work together so drivers can know their wait times and move containers smarter, respectively using Bluetooth®, Wi-FI®, and GPS. With this information, both ports and truckers have better data they can utilize to inform their decisions—from the best time to do a pick-up to hard numbers on port performance.
