A Coordinated Approach to School Maintenance

The state of Wyoming invested over $3 billion to modernize its public school facilities over the last 15 years. The initiatives were successful, but today, the state faces the challenge of ensuring that these investments and projects are maintained properly. The Wyoming’s School Facilities Department has developed a program whereby both state and local funds can be organized and allocated to projects large and small.

This process allows both state and local officials to determine which projects should be prioritized as well as gives local governments a reliable source of funding for future projects. Wyoming’s system of partnership provides local governments with the funding they need while still allowing school districts autonomy in deciding where the funds should go and relaying that information to the School Facilities Department.
