The 2017 Infrastructure Report Card celebrates its one-year anniversary today. Referenced by champions of infrastructure investment across the nation, the Report Card reminds us that with long-term investment, smart leadership, and preparation for the future, our nation’s D+ infrastructure problems are solvable.
Since its release at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. last March, the 2017 Infrastructure Report Card has been the go-to advocacy tool for reporters and spokespeople when discussing the state of America’s infrastructure. This snapshot of our infrastructure system announced that the overall grade of America’s infrastructure remained unchanged from the 2013 Infrastructure Report Card. It detailed that our roads, bridges and transit systems remained in poor condition, proving that in this case, no news is bad news.
Take a look at how the 2017 Infrastructure Report Card has been used as a tool to advocate for better infrastructure over the past year.

Unfortunately, while there has been a lot of talk about infrastructure in the past year, there’s been little action—especially at the federal level. With the President and Senate Democrats both releasing plans, now is the time for Congress to take up legislation that puts the Report Card’s solutions of investment, leadership and planning, and preparation for the future in action.
